Husband vs. Boyfriend

Its odd when you think of it.

Which would a girl choose more carefully? Her husband or her boyfriend? And the answer, if not in majority of the cases, at least in sizeable number is the latter. These are not results of some new survey, just an insight. Especially true in case of those going in for an arranged marriage. Fact is such an overwhelming number of guys they see through the arranged marriage route are below expectations, that they soon realise that options are running out. The only thing to do is to marry the half-decent guy that comes along. Then cognitive disonnace sets in and over the couple of months till marriage they convince themselves that hes the suitable boy. With boyfriends, its different. Having a boyfriend is a romantic thing, and also something by choice. The standards there are quite high, and girls are quite picky.

Think about it girls. Its quite likely you would'nt have picked the guy you're marrying as your boyfriend.

Comments:
first…put this way I would think it is the same for guys too. Correct me if im wrong though. also don’t u guys also have high standards and aren’t u as selective as girls?

i was going to post a huge comment but then I realized i cant speak for all girls. more often than not i’m accused of having a thought process that runs tangential to that of a normal girl's. if im marrying someone then its because i have found in him what i was looking for in a boyfriend which essentially means someone i could envisage spending the rest of my life with without scaring the living daylights out of myself. after it’s the rest of my life and no one can rush me into making a decision. which is what the girls u were talking abt above seem to be doing. but ive known girls in situations beyond their control and i sympathize with them.

and now im all over the place and not sure if i even answered ur qn chrys!

This must be a problem area for both guys and girls. The only thing to do is to start picking girlfriends or boyfriends or both at an early age and then statistically, brush this problem aside.
