Happy? new ear!
Yesterday was Parsee new year. Day before that was Pateti. Pateti is the last day of the year. Origin of the word being the persian word Patet, meaning repentance. On the last day of the year, we're supposed to repent for the year spent in reprehensible dissipation, while others spend the new year's eve in better ways. Thankfully, Parsees dont take this too seriously...Every year during this time the newspapers have some article about Parsees. Its the same stuff each year. Parsee population is dwindling. Parsees are fun loving and peaceful people. And of course the fact that the day before the new year is called Pateti.
In school, in seventh standard, i think, the teacher was telling the class that next Wednesday was Parsee new year, and of course that the day before that was called Pateti. To which one curious guy shot off "Whats Pateti" another shot back "Idiot, Pateti is a female Potato"
Btw, the title is what a plastic surgeon, after completing surgery asked the patient who had been disfugured by a car accident.
